'PBL' is jet black in color with a medium to full body. Seemless and deftly balanced--drinks like silk. Unfiltered and Unfined. Ingredients: Malts: 2-row Pale, Melanoidin and Carafoam Special II, Black and Chocolate. Hops: Oregon Perle and Hallertau. Yeast & Water: Oktoberfest #2633 Yeast and Free Range Coastal Water. Specs: 15º PLATO. 28 IBU. John’s Locker Stock Draft Only. "Paul besides brewing and filtering is an avid homebrewer. One day he gave me a bottle of a black beer he had made. I took it home and after the initial taste I was amazed at its seemless, deftly balanced quality. I then thought it was worthy of being in the John's Locker Stock lineup. Cheers to Paul! Anyhow his 'PBL' is brewed with massive amounts of dark roasted grains that give it a jet black color. It is medium to full bodied, and drinks like silk." - John Maier, Brewmaster

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
Pours an opaque chocolaty-sable with a thick, fine-bubbled dark tan head. Rich aroma is "stouty" - like fine roast coffee with strong chocolate and smoky undertones. Mouth-filling mocha-like flavor has a smoky overtone, strong hint of molasses, and a touch of sweetness as well as just a little bitterness. Texture is edgy and jazzy. Excellent!
