Queen City’s signature sipping beer is made with a blend of four high-quality British malts and generous additions of East Kent Goldings hops. The classic English strong ale yeast used for fermentation produces intriguing aromas reminiscent of Madeira and stone fruit. We occasionally have two additional versions on tap: One aged 6 months in Chardonnay barrels, and one aged 1 year in Chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces Claussenii.

First visit at the brewery, April 2019. Amber colour with a beige head and spotting lacing. Rich dark fruit aromas of sweetness with dates, plums, hints of apples and caramel. Roasted malts taste, well-balanced with the dark fruits, but not as sweet as the hops closes the lingering richness, some coffee, nuts and with the grassiness. A very nice hoppier Barleywine.
