Originated in England, over 400 years ago, this traditional British ale will be a real treat for everyone. This was everyman’s beer in its working class heyday. We are very excited to present this beer to our audience as there are very few commercial examples of this style in the United States today and you will definitely not find this on any grocery store shelves. At first glance, this beer’s deep amber color might lead one to think this beer is similar in flavor to a Stout or Porter. Those beers tend to have notes of caramel, chocolate, or roasted coffee. However, when you take your first sip of this delightfully easy-drinking ale, you will be surprised to find that unlike other dark-colored beers, English Mild tends to exhibit a low-bitterness—almost sweet— malt character that is at once light enough for even the most timid of beer drinkers, but flavorful enough to please the most die hard beer fans. This beer has a wonderfully balanced mouth feel, with low Alcohol by Volume (ABV) and IBU ratings. It’s low ABV and high level of drinkability makes it the ultimate session beer! Pair this beer with hearty dishes like roast pork or smoked sausage, aged Gouda cheese, or a sweet treat like almond cake or cashew brittle. Mmmm...

Sampled on 10/13/2012 at GABF. This English Mild Ale pours a light brown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and slightly sweet. A medium bodied mild ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and semi-sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Nicely balance beer with good flavors. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

A very light, very mild brown as noted by the name and could be a great session beer for an almost infinite amont of time as noted by the ultra-low ABV. Medium clear brown with a slight head and very little lacing or head retention. A slight nuttiness to the aroma, but far less so in the flavor. Light to medium bodied on the pallette. Not a bad beer... just not particularly appealing to me.
