At last an Irish Red Ale with a traditional hop flavour to balance the fruit character of the yeast and the luscious caramel flavour notes delivered from the malts used, as opposed to artificially added. Ingedients: Pale, Crystal, Wheat and Chocolate Malts; Galena, Nugget and East Kent Golding hops.

The scores of 2.6 and 12.8 seem a bit harsh. Not that this was spectacular, but at the least is an average beer within the style. Dark amber/red pour, decent feel...light but smooth. Definitely malt dominated nose and flavor. Caramel and a bit o nut. Not much hops but in the finish. For $4.10 retail probably a one timer.

A weak watery Irish Ale. It pours a dark red color, almost no head, not quite clear. Old stale malt is all I can smell, some weak floral smells round out the aroma. It tastes very weak....watered down malt, and a finish that isn't so much bitter as it is a releif. Definitely something to avoid.

It pours a handsome clear dark amber with a fairly thick, if not too persistent head. Aroma is fairly strong and malty with a fruity undertone. Flavor is fruity and malty, a bit on the thin side. Texture is somewhat fizzy and a little watery. Nevertheless, it is still palatable.

Waaaaay overpriced... it didn't cost me anything, but I hate it for my buddy who bought it at $9 for a 11.2 oz. bottle at J. Clyde. Pours deep amber with a moderate off-white/tan head. Slightly hoppy and balanced well with the malt, but nothing grand. I'm sure in my area availability has something to do with price on this one, but $9 for a 4.4% ABV amber in an 11.2 oz bottle is pretty tough.

Draught@The Porterhouse, London. Amber colour, mediumsized creamy and thick beige head. Wooden and slightly fruity hoppy aroma. Flavour is flowery and wooden along with some slight hoppy and caramelly hints. Refreshing, but nothing that special.
