An array of brown, roasted, and biscuit malts create this rich and malty ale. An extended two hour boil develops caramelized flavors as well as its dark color. A small addition of peat smoked barley adds a slight smoky flavor.

This Scotch Ale pours a deep amber color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized whitish foamy head. Aroma is dark fruit, caramel, some wood, some smoke and some vanilla. A medium bodied Scotch Ale. Malts are caramel, dark fruit with some oak and smoke. Touch of maple and vanilla. Nice malt profile. Tends a little towards a porter but it has an interesting hop presence in the background. Mouthfeel may be a little thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet and smoky. Nice beer.
