The granddaddy of English ales, this beer pours a tawny amber and boasts a huge malt flavour. Aging in whiskey barrels for 10 months has added a woody vanilla note that will age beautifully. This beer begs to be cellared.

Bomber from Central City, and scarcely a steal at $12.29. Copper pour, mostly clear, and a quickly vanishing ringless beige head. Faint aroma, not much of anything for the nose here, maybe some caramel. Mouthfeel, at least, was supurb: buttery, almost oily. Flavour was not lacking but I'd expected something more substantial. Caramel and some alcohol without the burn. Sweet, boozy finish plus a peppery quality. Okay, not really good. Like a light BW.
