In honor of both its independence and its signature Tripel style, this Belgian style ale brewed with Belgian candi surgar and a combination of Ommegang, Duvel and Chouffe yeasts. A tripel, if you will. The unsung hero of brewing, the yeast strand dramatically influences the flavor and aroma profile of a beer. Three yeasts join here together to forge one remarkable brew.

Comes out of the tap a hazy golden yellow with a fairly thick palest golden head. Strong aroma is fruity and malty with a hint of butterscotch. Rich flavor has malty and fruity notes, the latter mainly apple, plus hints of butterscotch and yeast. Firm-bodied texture has plenty of good fizz. Happy independence day, Belgium - you folks know how to celebrate!

A golden color with a small white head. Aroma is faint with yams, citrus, and some yeasty notes. The flavor is slightly sour with some yams dominating. Overall a good beer but not great.
