Irish Walker is an English-Style Barley Wine. It has malty finish with a pronounced fruity quality. Irish Walker is dry hopped with a generous amount of English hops yielding a wonderfully spicy hop bouquet and flavor with less bitterness. The color is a deep mahogany. The body is full. Irish Walker is being poured in a 12oz glass, the server should remember that the alcohol level is 7.7% alc/vol and therefore should be careful not to over-serve someone. The smooth balance and maltiness of Irish Walker could be deceiving for some drinkers.

Pours nearly opaque sable - a little daylight gets through at the top - with a thin light tan head. Aroma has earthy, roast malt and licorice notes. Flavor tosses some woody hops into the mix, adding a little bitterness. Texture has good body if not a lot of fizz. Walk the Irish walk! (Insert inevitable joke about how the Irish drink here.)

Bottle shared by @GBOMatt. 2012 version that is 10.14% ABV. Slightly muddy dark brown pour, tight short tan head, some lacing. Caramel maltiness upfront, then ample earthy and spicy English hops, then more malts and caramel, sweet but big, nice boozy quality. Thank for sharing Matt.

same label, but this batch was 9.6%. nice to have a flavorful, robusy barleywine that's not 11-15%. well balanced abd excellent all around. a little earthy malt with a healthy dose of toffee and caramel. floral hops and pleasantly bittersweet in the finish. Well done.
