Was the very last to have a sample of this most interesting Tripel at O'Brien's. A shame, too, since I think that this was much more interesting than the On Tap! Tripel that was being offerred the same Thursday evening.

Light in appearence and light and the mouthfeel -- no turgid undertones here, that's for sure. Kinda spicy in the front, and perhaps a bit more so in the middle, but in no way detracting from the beer on the whole. No..., this may be a Belgian Tripel-style beer (brewed close to the heart of San Diego County, CA), but is surely worth comparing to more plentiful and accessible Tripels (foreign and domestic).

If I have but one complaint, it's that this seemed to follow such middle-of-the-road Tripels as Bornem and Eau Benite a little too closely. No complaints here, mind you..., but, at the same time, it would have been nice if this tried to make more of a statement for itself, IMO.

    Still, a Recommendedable beer...
