Sampled on 10/8/2011. Bottled purchased Sept. 2010. This Barley wine pours a medium dark orange gold from a 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, biscuity and sweet. A medium bodied Barley Wine. The malts are biscuit, caramel and semi-sweet. The hops are herbal, piney and citrusy. Nicely balanced. Good carbonation, Not as sweet as a normal barley wine, its more biscuty and not as sweet as you would expect. Its more a cross between a Barley Wine and a Double IPA. There is a lots of different flavor going on here. Smooth and complex. This is definitely one of those beers that you want to spend some time with. Amazing nice dry finish. Well worth the 5-10 minutes it took to get the damn cork off. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, dry and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours a orange gold, light haze .. . aroma of hot hops, citrus, and caramel .. . a hoppy BW, has a few different levels to it .. . toffee is a big player .. . A nice brew, quite unique .. . I'm sorry I can't help myself. That movie has warped my fragile little mind.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy reddish amber brown with a huge rocky off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is piny resiny peppery hops with a little fruits and sweet caramel malts.

The flavor is toasted sweet caramel malts with some melon leading to a big piny resiny hop finish that has good bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, a fun beer. I've liked this on tap. It reminds me a bit of Hog Heaven. It's a bit pricey ($15 per 750ml). At that price it would be a rare buy (more often on tap).
