More of the roasted character of an old ale, especially in the aroma, than a barley wine. Roast, chocolate, dark fruit and citrus hops. Slightly stronger but even smoother than the ill tempered gnome. Wouldn't mind finding this again!

bizzaree: It smells like HOT CHOCOLATE! so much chocolate. a bit bitter on the taste. The flavour and aroma are really respectful enemies, but their battle in your mouth is an enjoyable one. Dark caramel colour, big bodied. Is this really light coloured stout or barleywine? Each part of this beer is awesome but all together it falls short, less than the sum of its parts.
