Mild Ale didn’t originate as a style yet, as a description of young or really fresh beer in the UK. This grew to become a lower alcohol beer that was lightly hopped and had a malt forward focus. It was one of the most popular styles up until the 1960’s. Here is an tribute to this great beer style. A rich deep copper colour with a tight white head with a light sweetness on the nose and caramel malt with very low hop aroma. The flavour is balanced and clean, with just a nice sweetness and moderate earthy bitterness. The beer finishes very clean and semi-sweet. Malts: Maris Otter, Munich II, Carafa II Hops: Fuggles Yeast: American Ale
