Huge head with roaring amount of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass. Looks like a maelstrom in there!! Nice golden color. Clear body so must be filtered. Yeasty Belgian-like aroma. Wow! flavor is really great. Not really picking up any major oakiness in it, but can detect a bit of the agave there. Tones of vanilla after it has sat in my glass for a bit. Agave also lingers on the palate for a bit. Not sure that American Strong was the right catagory when I added this as it really has lots of dubbel charactoristics to it.

Corked and caged 50cl bottle pours clear copper to gold with a nice white looking head of foam. The rather bold aroma offers up prunes, apricots and some funky passion fruit followed by white wine and a touch of cream soda like vanilla notes. The taste is similar with tart to nearly funky white wine notes as well as some prunes and molasses and not too much of anything else really. The big ABV isn’t too obtrusive. It ends on the dry side.

50 cl bottle from Systembolaget labeled "North Coast Grand Cru". Intensely fruity and floral. Strange taste and aroma, I guess it’s from the agave juice. Very sweet, not much bitterness. A hint of bourbon. Alcohol is well hidden.

Tasted at the 6th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on 11/12/2011. This American Strong Ale pours a medium golden color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet with a touch of tartness. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and earthy. Decent carbonation. A touch of wood. Also perhaps a touch of oxidation. Nice sipping beer although it’s a touch on the sweet side. Although that is not unexpected considering how this beer was brewed and blended. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
