22 oz bottle, mfg 12/17/12. Pours dark copper amber with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is perfumey vanilla , boozy bourbon and a little green apple.

The flavor is sweet chocolate malts with a lot of roast, bourbon with an alcohol bite and a smokey bitter finish that lingers. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice bourbon beer. Still a bit on the sweet and boozy side but had some interesting flavors.

2011 I think. Right out of the fridge and bottle, the aroma needed time to warm up, but when it did - this beer was pretty damn good. Big, rich, warming. Sweet leaning from both the barrels and the malty backbone, though the hops were adequate as well. Leaning towards barleywine in style, but an american strong for whatever reason. Toffee, caramel, hops, vanilla and bourbon on the nose and tongue. I'd get this again.
