The Copper John nymph imitates the classic stonefly to land even the smartest trout. Its sleek abdomen adds weight to the fly, helping it sink to deeper water. Like its namesake, this Scotch ale could be considered “wee-heavy”. At Madison River Brewing Company we smoke the finest malt over a hardwood fire for flavor complexity then combine it with roasted barley to add a deep, dark color.

A delicious beer with a smoky taste to it. A dark brown red colored ale with very little lacing. A medium to full bodied ale that had a good balance of hops and malts. Not too sweet yet not too bitter but with a nice smoky flavor.
