Pours a pitch black with a sub one finger chocolate milk colored head that takes its time. Too dark to see if there was any carbonation. Aroma is strong of brewers licorice, dark fruits, chocolate, and dark roasted malts. Taste is full bodied with hints of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, licorice, and some sort of medicinal alcohol. Finishes off sticky and dry. Very interesting beer.
