Dark Burgundy in color. Aged in a bourbon barrel for 6 months, this wonderfully large version of a Scotch ale would be understated as a 120 Shilling Ale.

A dark brown to black appearance with no head. A sour nose iwth some rotten grapes, alcohol, and chocolate. The flavor is a mix of sour grapes and molasses with some chocolate and coffee present. The finish is cloying and a bit rough. A very odd beer.

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown in color with almost no head, but it was white while it was there. A sweet carmely soy sauce smell. A winey/vanilla/cherry taste. Lots of other flavors that I could not make out. Reminded me a lot of a finely aged Sam Adams Triple Bock.
