(Blend 1, bottled 04-26-2012)Hazy dull honey brown complete with a noisy short lived crown. Sour drool inducing aroma, so much tropical fruit, mostly pineapple, papaya, malts are leathery. This style normally doesn't do it for me but either this is really good or sours are growing on me. Sour fruity tropical punch I tell you. Light body with sour punch....... drinks easy. Flavour is light it seems mostly just a tasteless sour but if you pay attention you hit leathers, pineapple, tropical everything. The dryness reminds of hibiscus flowers. This is good the end.

As expected, liked this significantly better than the complex, but somewhat boring, Maui version. Of course, it cost far more as well. The acidic aroma and fairly strong sour aspects of this beer really accentuated the cherries and passionfruit in a way the Maui version did not. Pleasantly sour and tasty.

750 ml bottle, blend 5 bottled 5/9/12. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a small off white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is cherries and tropical fruit with some musty yeast and brett. Yum.
The flavor is tart acidic fruits (cherry, tropical fruit), some wood and some brett and sourness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, wow! Completely different and so much better than the Maui version. Love the sourness and brett and it brings out more fruits and complements them. A bit pricey at $20 a bottle though.
