…and another Jackie O’s courtesy of markwise. Growler pours brilliantly clear amber with thin off white head. The aroma is big with sugar covered apple wedges and pears along with lesser amounts of brown sugar coated whiskey soaked smashed bananas. The taste is similar with pears and apples mixing with caramel and sweet smooth brandy yumminess rimmed with sweet banana. This is smooth and sweet and moves into some booze and heat at the finish. Tasty stuff with a pleasing rich balance.

Swick with the sleeping pill to the face! .. . pours a deep amber .. medium foam .. light barrel and yeast, some sweetness .. . a bit muddled but decent, didn't get much bourbon at all, weak by JO's standards .. . .

1st had this beer a couple years ago on tap at a festival and I kept going back for more until the keg was cleared. Recently had it in the bottle and it rekindled my fondness for this barrel aged tripel. The barrel aging is done to near perfection and adds a sturdy bourbon influence without taking away from the dry fruity base tripel. Shockingly drinkable and a real pleasing drink.
