Dark, thick pour with a heavy malt content. Sweet and medium bodied, very hearty without being thick and heavy. A nice blend of earthy peat, chocolate, burnt caramel, nuts and a trace of bourbon. Big time dark fruits with a mildly sweet vinous characteristic and a healthy dose of vanilla. Layers upon layers of complexities with a very mild tart twang throughout. The nearly year old aged bottle was heads and tails above the draft sample I initially had at the brewpub.
