Description A hoppy golden ale with recession-fighting properties and brewed with 100% barley, hops, water and yeast. It is a bitter ale for bitter times. Awards 2009 Silver in the North American Beer Awards Food Pairing This golden bitter is known as an ordinary or session beer in England. It has a lower alcohol content, a moderate hop profile and complements a variety of offerings such as sandwiches, hearty soups and pizzas. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Our new combination cap is an innovative design that allows closure by both crown and swing caps. It can be re-used and meets our green packaging objectives.

Time again for the always welcome one litre swingtop bottle from Howe Sound. Producing just over two fingers of frothy white head covering a lovely clear copper body, the aroma was giving up some malty notes. Taste was assuredly bitter; no shortage of hops here. Mouthfeel and finish also had some bite to them, thanks again, hops. Thoroughly enjoyable, easily the best Canadian-made bitter I've had (maybe the only one?). Good beer, this.
