Courtesy of markwise. Pours deep darkness with mahogany edges and tiny tan head. The aroma is a mix of spicy hops, black licorice, molasses, dark to burnt malts, floral hops and chocolate. All that oatmeal sure did create a smooth near velvety mouth feel texture ushering in chocolate to burnt malts to dark baker’s chocolate and then moving into a bit of molasses by midway. Toward the finish spicy, earthy and floral hops surface and pull up some black licorice and dry dark roasted malts to help add some depth and mild dryness.
