Harpoon Imperial Red Ale is a feast for the senses. This deep amber beer has an intense hop flavor that balances with the complex caramel character derived from the use of several different malts. The fruity esters of the yeast blend perfectly with the citrusy aroma of dry hops.

Aromas of citrus with some pine undertones, lots of caramel malts, body is a deep brown with a reddish hue, the head is thick and frothy. Mouthfeel is very full and quite chewy. Flavor is very malt forward with the hops playing a complementary role, and the alcohol is slightly noticeable. Overall its a big ole brew, kinda similar to a very malty IIPA, but a good beer none the less.
