a pleasant enough beer, but it doesn't quite match up with the better scotch ales out there. a nice malty sweet character...a little weak on the otherwise pleasant nose. mouthfeel is nice as well. flavor is good, if a little light on the smokey peat aspect. overall, a good beer, "quaffable", but average for a Scotch ale.
