William Ogden opened Chicago’s first brewery. He was the city’s first mayor. And he added the North Brand channel to the Chicago River that created the island from which we take our name. Three good reasons why we gave our first-ever Belgian Style Tripel his name. We dry hopped The Ogden with American Citra® and Brewer’s Gold hops to add spicy, tropical flavors. Then we fermented it with a unique Belgian yeast to give it a bold, complex palate.

Pours a clear golden with light white head and light white lacing. Nose of banana, clove, citrus, Belgian candy, fresh bread, light hops, and alcohol on the nose. Flavors of nice Belgian candy up front, banana and citrus fruits on the back, some lemon grass herbal notes, and a light hop and clove flavor on the aftertaste. Overall its a nice twist to the style, i liked it.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet wheaty malts and bubblegum with some fruit.
The flavor is sweet wheaty malts, with some fruit and bubblegum and some harsh medicinal alcohol in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Overall, a bit of a mess - overly sweet with harsh alcohol.
