Taps deep coffee sable with a chocolate brown head. Aroma delivers charred malt, quality coffee, dark chocolate and toasted hop character. Bold flavor unleashes chocolate, quality coffee, bourbon, roasted malt, smoky and woody tones for a truly delicious brewski. Mouthfeel features viscous body and good fizz. Watch out, this one will hit you like a MARTA bus hauling ass down Georgia 400!

I ordered this beer from the good folks at The Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, Va. This beer was REALLY good. It had the heat from the barrell aging and the coffee flavor all rolled into a delicious stout. I will make this a yearly get. I loved this beer. As an aside, props to the good folks at InBev for not fucking with the Goose Island folks. Leave well enough alone ... and this beer is VERY well off.

A big hit of raw coffee beans on the nose, huge aroma. Pours extremely dark and with nearly no head as they all do. Full mouthfeel, smooth. You can taste a bitter coffee flavor mixing in with the classic BCS flavors, think age will do fine for this beer. I still like the original best.

All four people at the table ordered this, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Nearly black and served with no head at all. Beautiful sweet bourbon and coffee aroma with hints of vanilla (some thought it more alcoholic than I did). Flavor delivers on every promise made by the aroma, adding coconut, almond, cocoa, and even a hint of tobacco to the mix. Sweet and silky smooth. The ABV is well hidden and packs a punch, though. We all had to sip this slowly.

Review from a 2010 bottle sampled on 12/22/12 - the coffee is Intelligentsia black cat espresso. Similar to the base beer in appearance - deep black with a brown head and minimal carbonation. Silky smooth mouthfeel helps with the high ABV. Massive nose of coffee - burnt and roasty to compliment the bourbon. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, wood, tobacco and more coffee. Even with 2 years since bottling, the coffee is still front and center. This is a marvelous beer.

Taking BCS to a whole 'nother level.....able to 1st enjoy multiple samples during the 2010 Dark Lord Day trip as well as break into a handful of bottles locally throughout the year. Coffee infusion is near perfect and compliments an already top notch barrel aged stout. Worth seeking out.

this one was cool enough that i just ordered a kilo a the coffee that was in this beer. still young, and therefore a little hot. definitely sweet, but not cloyingly so. this beer, as well as the rare, makes me wonder if this beer was 10 or 11% if it would get a near perfect score. the heat is the only thing keeping this from, say, a 4.9. coffee, chocolate, vanilla, chared malt...damn good all around. can't wait for the coffee. in 6-12 months, it may be higher in the feel.

This is one sweet ride.. . Pours a dark brown black.. . aromas of tar, dark chocolate, and coffee! .. .Don't touch it. Don't even look at it. Don't look at me. .. smooth as silk, more flavour than the regular but so much smoother and calmer. .. just pure class .. . That's right. You better walk on. I'll hit an old man in public!
