A North American take on an 80 shilling Scottish Ale. Deep amber in colour with a moderate, creamy, off white head. It is a clean, maltforward beer with slight fruitiness, a maltfocused aroma, bread and toasted malt notes, a hint of caramel, and some residual malt sweetness. Moderate body and mouthfeel in a wellbalanced package and just enough hop bitterness to keep the beer from being too sweet. 27 IBU

Tall can from the brewery. Pours an average size foamy off-white head and has a cloudy amber coppery appearance. Dirty lacing. Lively carbonation. Aromas of barley and caramel malt, a bit earthy and herbal. Flavours are mostly earthy and resinous, caramel malt is most noticeable with some light toasted malt and hints of oak. A bit woodsy as well. Mild sweetness. Smooth and dry mouthfeel.
