Funkwerks Brett Trois
Funkwerks Brett Trois
Rated 3.175 by BeerPalsSay "hello" to Funkwerks’ first Brettanomyces-only fermentation! A fruity bubblegum aroma is followed by a crisp citrus flavor. We used a large amount of Galaxy, Rakau, and Crystal hops for finishing. These hops contribute tropical flavors and aromas such as passion fruit, papaya, and mango while also imparting gentle citrus notes. The mouth tingling effervescence, with tart pineapple finish and biscuit backbone, exemplifies characteristics common to this Brettanomyces strain.

750 ml bottle, bottled on 12/27/13. Pours hazy orange amber with a big meringue like white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet grainy malts, tangy tropical fruit, bubble gum and some piney hops.
The flavor is sweet toasted caramel malts with tropical fruits and a medium grassy funky bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation, slightly watery.
Overall, an interesting fruity funky brett beer.
