Our reimagining of a classic German Pilsner. Generous hopping with Mittelfruh and Saaz gives this beer a delightful floral and spicy aroma. The finish is dry, crisp, and refreshing. Inspired by our cycling adventures through Germany and the Czech Republic. Pilsner beer was first brewed in Bohemia, a German-speaking province in the old Austrian Empire, it's one of the most popular styles of lager beers in Germany and has since been embraced by beer lovers the world over. It's easy to understand why a country with an abundance of rivers supplied by alpine lakes might produce clean, crisp lagers, and the German Pilsner style has become recognised for just that, with its light straw colour, refreshing palate and pleasing bitterness. We find that there's something enchanting about cultures that modernise whilst paying homage to their traditions and heritage, Germany's brewing heritage is fascinating (and lengthy) and it's fair to say that they've set the bar when it comes to consistency in brewing regulations. Take for example the Reinheitsgebot, a German 'beer purity law' that sets out restrictions on the ingredients that can be used in the brewing of beer. It was instigated in 1516 and is still discussed and adhered to (in-part) today. Whilst modern brewing has seen techniques, equipment and styles progress, there's something to be said for sourcing the finest ingredients and taking a simple recipe to make an incredibly drinkable beer. Fourpure Pils would be as at home on the streets of Munich as it is right here in South London. Prost.
