Brewed strong, bold and sweet with honey malt and maple syrup, then fermented with our jolliest Belgian yeast, this beer then rests in the bright tank with 60 pounds of finely chopped sugar plums until the elves can wait no longer. The resulting elixir arrives onyx in hue with hints of oak and spice and a rich complex cornucopia of cheer for your palate. This is a fruitcake that won't get tossed!

Had this on a trip to Oregon 2-3 years ago. It's like no other tripel I've ever had. Quite dark in colour compared to their Belgian brethren, this one is also very sweet. Not a lot of citrus tones to balance out the yeast, but there is plenty of fruit hints

This was special 2009 brewed beer for the Portland Holiday Ale Festival. Poured an amber brown color with a brown, tan head. Aroma had hints of spice and malt. Medium body. Pretty dark for a Belgian Tripel. The flavor was kind of mild. I wasn't that impressed with this beer, though it certainly wasn't bad.
