A sizeable improvement on the "pretty good" base barleywine. Takes all the rough edges off that beer and makes for a decadent treat. Maaaaybe slightly overbarreled, but in this case it really works. Vanilla, oak and bourbon slightly dominate the malt and spicy hops of the base. *I found a 3/1 barrel to non-barrel blend was near perfect.
