Many foods ignite our passions. Tastes so sophistacated and rich, they dance on the tongue and tantalize the palate so that we cannot help but be drawn into the magic of these flavours. Superb beer, skillfully crafted from the best ingredients is one of these stimulating foods. Chocolate is another. Combining these flavours in just the right balance only serves to enhance their powers. The combination of chocolate and beer is sure to put a smile on your face. Drink, taste, and enjoy! Whoa...what a beer. Black/brown with a thin brown head. Takes everything good about Rogue Chocolate Stout, squares it, and gets rid of the watery mouthfeel (the weaker beer's only shortfall). The aroma is mostly chocolate...tootsie rolls ...with some roasted malt detected underneath. The mouthfeel is big and creamy, which is quite nice. This is definitely a dessert beer...pretty sweet, although i bet there are high IBUs in there too. Just tasty. Roasted malt and a ton of chocolate. You can tell it's got a backbone, but not that it's 10%. Hard to get info on this beer...got it at the Rogue Alehouse in SF, brewed in Oregon, presumably for Ezo Beer in Japan, but even though ezo-beer.com is right on the bottle, this beer isn't on there. Only 3 ratings on ratebeer and beeradvocate. Worth buying a few if you can find it...sadly i was loaded with beer so i got only one :(
