Whoa...what a beer. Black/brown with a thin brown head. Takes everything good about Rogue Chocolate Stout, squares it, and gets rid of the watery mouthfeel (the weaker beer's only shortfall). The aroma is mostly chocolate...tootsie rolls ...with some roasted malt detected underneath. The mouthfeel is big and creamy, which is quite nice. This is definitely a dessert beer...pretty sweet, although i bet there are high IBUs in there too. Just tasty. Roasted malt and a ton of chocolate. You can tell it's got a backbone, but not that it's 10%. Hard to get info on this beer...got it at the Rogue Alehouse in SF, brewed in Oregon, presumably for Ezo Beer in Japan, but even though ezo-beer.com is right on the bottle, this beer isn't on there. Only 3 ratings on ratebeer and beeradvocate. Worth buying a few if you can find it...sadly i was loaded with beer so i got only one :(
