Meh. This was indeed malty and showed some fruit, but it was pretty blah for the style. Lighting and just not very interesting. Not bad, just not competitive in a line-up...

Sampler at Dust Bowl -
I was really hoping for something special with this barleywine, but for me it just didn't deliver. It had some kind of strange corny-ness, melding with a metallic/earthy character that I really didn't find appealing. I was hoping this would be a malt-bomb, but it seemed to sway towards to hops-side of things. Knowing the quality of beers produced here, I'm willing to try and re-rate again soon.
