A strong beer which was usually kept in the wood for long periods. Large amounts of malt produced a sweetish beer at the beginning, but prolonged maturation developed a drier, more complex ale. Brewed December 2010, and properly aged as an old ale should be, this ruby strong ale has a complex malt character and nutty Fuggles hops. Hints of marmalade and caramel are topped by sherry notes. A very limited edition. We are planning to brew it again for next winter.
