This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

Pours clear amber with a thin but serviceable eggshell head. Aroma features tangy pomme and tropical fruit on a fresh malt underpinning. Flavor delivers sweetish fruit, fresh malt, and a sharp alcohol bite that warns you this is a big beer. Mouthfeel presents decent body and fizz. Get your absolution in a glass.

One of the finest American made Tripels I've ever encountered. Obtained a four pack while vacationing up in Michigan this year, and now I wish I had at least doubled my order. Lots of fruity banana, apricot, bubblegum and spicy clove with a touch of vanilla and bread. The yeast impact is very assertive and soothing. Dark golden body that is extremely hazy. Medium white head and thick lacing. Firm medium body with a rich and soft finish. Both sweet and spicy to keep it interesting. A classic Tripel of extraordinary stature.

Pours a dark copper color with a quarter inch head that settles very slowly to a thin layer of foam, leaving behind a thick sheeting of lace. This is the darket Trippel that I have seen, although I've read that they used to be pretty dark before Westmalle made their lighter colored version. Smell; this has some very good banana and clove aromas, as well as what I can only describe as bubblegum. I also get a bit of a grainy profile as this warms a bit. Taste; wow, the bananas stand out even more in the flavor. The cloves and bubblegum flavors are there as well, but not quite as strongly as the bananas. I'm getting a little bit of a pepper, and candied sugar with a little orange peel thrown in the mix. Did I mention bananas yet? Moutheel is thick and a touch on the syrupy side. Drinkablility is also really good, with only a little bit of alcohol present. Overall a very enjoyable beer.

Copper in color with a white head. Sweet, sweet, sweet aroma and then a kick of yeasts at the end, as well as some bananas. Lots of flavors like bananas, sweet fruits, honey and yeasts. A wonderful treat.
