Here at Deschutes Brewery, we’re always on the lookout for a chance to create something new. That’s why, more than 3 years ago, our brewers decided to fill up some Oregon pinot barrels with a beer gone astray and infect it with Brettanomyces, and then wait for the transformation. Around the brewhouse it was known as "Green Monster," and the name stuck. At the end of this experimentation story, you will find a monstrously fantastic, sour beer, with slight cherry and dried fruit aroma. In fact, the only scary thing about this beer is that it is SO LIMITED!

Has definite similarities to Dissident, but is nearly 4% lower abv, and obviously spend a TON of time in the pinot. Very wine like, with a moderately aggressive sourness. Like Dissident, though, this is an elegant sour ale. Refined and wild don't seem to go togehter, but that's what this is. Tons on oak, malty balance, both sweet and sour, and very very tasty.
