Kölsch, a German style ale, originating in Köln (Cologne), is defined as a light ale. The use of ale yeast fermented at lager temperatures makes up this style. A two-step fermentation process is used with primary fermentation at about 58°F, and conditioning around 40°F. This beer has a lighter mouth feel and is a classic summertime style which should be served very cold.

light and refreshing, but with just a touch more flavor than i expected from the style. can't say i've ever been excited for a kolsch, but this one is not bad. sampled draft at the bend pub.
