A blonde sour ale made with a few of our favorite things. Sweet, floral and exploding with sour flavor, this ancient ale was born in Venlo, named in Düsseldorf, adopted by Vienna and reenvissioned by our brewers to capture to essence of Austria. Bold, crisp and majestic as the Alps, this wild sour ale sings upon the hilltops.

    Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5

Pours clear amber with a fairly thick but ephemeral beige head. Aroma delivers quite sour, almost vinegary, fruit plus a hint of malt. Flavor is seriously sour, almost like apple vinegar, though it does mellow a bit after a few sips - or maybe I get used to it. Hints of malt and rose do come through, but this is definitely not my cup of tea. Er, make that my mug of beer. :D Mouthfeel presents OK body and shy fizz. Was this a bum batch, or is it because sours are not my fave? Doesn't matter - I am glad that I got to try it.
