Wild Wild Brett is a series of R&D beers created to showcase the versatility of Brettanomyces, a yeast found naturally all over the world. Historically considered "wild yeast", Brett is responsible for 100% of the fermentation in the bottle you hold. This sixth installment of the series incorporates blueberries into the fermentation and during barrel aging. Known for their deep indigo color, the blueberries add a tart fruit aroma on top of the earthy Brettanomyces tropical fruit flavors. This beer is bottled with the natural yeast, if cellared in a cool dark place this beer will develop more complex Brett characteristics and evolve for years to come. Please enjoy this unique offering in your favorite stemmed glassware and allow the beer to breathe and open up as you swirl it in your glass.

    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

750 ml bottle - batch 7/12, bottle 1150/1516. Pours a hazy amber with reddish-violet hues and a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet bready malts with tart/sour blueberries with a little stink and funk from the brett and some slight vomit notes.

The flavor is sweet blueberries with some tart citric notes and some earthy brett and vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice blend of tart blueberries and brett. The best blueberry beer I've had. A little too sweet.
