Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
750ml bottle, batch 7/12 bottle 1266/1531. Pours brown with a medium creamy light brown head that quickly goes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is roasted malts with bitter spruce and piney hops.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with a lot of spruce. I get a slight tart sourness from the Brett, but not much. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and rather watery.
Overall, a nice hoppy roasted spruce beer, but not overdone. It will be interesting to see how the Brett affects this down the road.
