Blackberry Petite Sour is an unfiltered wild ale with Blackberries aged in oak . A serious sourness greets you on the nose with dark bramble fruit aromas and bright citrus flavors created by the wild yeast and bacteria. The finish is dry with a firm tartness, and prickly mouthfeel.

750 ml bottle, batch March 2012, bottle 372 / 857. Pours hazy purplish amber with a fizzy off white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet berries and funky acidic (mild butyric) brett.

The flavor is lots of tart and sour berry with a little sweetness and some wood notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low prickly carbonation.

Overall, a nice sour beer with lots of sour tart berry.

A far nicer beer than my first foray to crooked Stave, though still not among the elite for a style I love. They did a great job integrating the fruit in this one, and the balance between jammy blackberry and funky lemony tart is the beers strenth.
