This dark red brew is dominated by malt flavors and aromas. Toasted malt and a special Munich malt give it a chewy, toffee, nutty flavor. Northern Brewer hops balance out the malt sweetness, making it easy to drink. 5.1% ABV

The Highland Scottish Ale poured a copper-red. It had a thick, creamy light tan head that was very nitro-like. It had excellent retention and laced the glass.
The aroma was some caramel malt and a little fruitiness.
It had a velvety, creamy mouthfeel. The taste was of caramel, toffee and toasted chocolate malt. It had a very subtle hop bitterness - could have used some more.
Overall, this a a nice beer. I probably would have loved this not too long ago. Now, it seems a little too one-sided on the malt side.
