Our "winter warmer" ale, brewed with copious helpings of English malts and US and English hops, a ruddy hued "Imperial ESB" in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering, firm hop bitterness. Seasonally available from mid October to February.

Tried a 12 oz brown bottle with KCC Rnd 3. This year's Winter Storm is bronze colored and hoppy, very hoppy. Bottled version (2005) is darker than 04, a deep, clear bronze, with great foam and lace. Hops dominate the aroma profile. Taste is pretty hoppy, too. While I like hops (a lot!) I certainly did not expect so little of anything else remarkable. Aftertaste = hops. I have just decided that I don't like imbalanced, hop-heavy beers anymore. Especially when the season calls for malts! A great Imperial ESB, but not a particularly enticing winter warmer.
