For the third bottle release of the El Catador Club Fourth Edition, we are proud to introduce Bourbon Barrel-aged Warmer Winter. This will be the first release of a barrel-aged version of our perennial cool weather release. The strong ale went into barrels in 2015 and was bottled earlier this month. Upon pouring, you will be greeted by a boozy nose of dates, raisins and red apple is complimented by light wood aromas and a touch of vanilla. The palate of this huge beer boasts molasses, brown sugar and maple syrup flavors and a drying, tannic finish from extensive aging in white oak bourbon barrels.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

750mL bottle pours with a murky chestnut colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sugary residual and reduced sugars, smooth thin bourbon, molasses covered figs and dates. The taste delivers smooth rich sipping goodness with molasses, sugary malts and then smooth soft sweet malt nuanced bourbon. To midway the fig to date to prune sweet dark fruity esters peak out to be heard. Damn. This is smooth and integrated with only a modest level of barrel influence and very little sense of the ABV. Great sipper.

Pours opaque chocoate with a nice buff head. Aroma features chocolate, roast malt and woody bourbon notes. Flavor yields roast malt, bourbon, woody, semi-sweet chocolate and caramel tones. Mouthfeel yields firm, thick body and lively fizz. Warm winter!
