Rated in March 2011. On tap Cigar City pouring amber – copper with a moderate level of opacity and gold edges with a nice lasting off white head. The aroma is very spicy with hops as well as tropical fruit hard candy, dried citrus, dried apricots and sweet sugary mango. The taste is thick citrus and toprical mango notes and getting very orange and grapefruit as well as candied mango to midway. Heading into the finish all those flavor hop notes are met by increasing levels of resiny citrus hop bitterness. This is a very pleasing and bold all hop forward American Style Barleywine.
