Bottle courtesy of one of the most generous people I know, thanks buddy! This was shared in the company of many of the Belgium rateebeerians who I had the pleasure of seeing again at the 4de Gents Bierfestival and some meeting for the first time. What a terrific experience, cheers everyone!! The 75cl yellow waxed bottle pours with a dark mahogany body that supports a light mocha colored head. The aroma offers up boozy bourbon, chocolate, toffee, cherries and some sweet and vague barrel notes. The taste is smooth and rich and demands small enjoyable sips where there’s a mix of dark roasted malts, dark roasted chocolate malts, smooth sweet cherry notes and then slivers of faint red grape tartness. In between these notes I get more chocolate bar and toffee candy notes that really ramp this up into rarified richness and balance where a mild smooth bourbon barrel booziness is noticed off in the background. Dandy stuff, I can sip on this stuff for hours.
