Rating in July 2009. The fluid poured out of the brewery purchased growler a deep amber color with tall dark tan head. The aroma is full roasty coffee beans with a thicket of chocolate wondering around the periphery. The taste is really smooth and creamy. Yum, silky too bringing in small dark chocolate bars before roasty to burnt coffee goodness picks up and takes over the flavor. The roasty malts and sweeter malts are there behind the coffee and chocolate adding additional depth to the experience. It ends with increasing coffee notes. Wow this is smooth, interesting, balanced and allows plenty of the base beer to shine through the treatment.
