Thus NW style sour ale is a honey rye that was barrel aged for eight months before having various types of ginger added for an additional two months. Ginger, rye malts and lemon greet you in the nose. A slight sweet ginger spice and heat sparkle on the palate. A crisp bite of ginger and lingering honey herbal note lead you to a light peppery finish. Just when you though you knew what he blenders were doing...

This was another beer I tried at the barrel house poured straight from the barrel. Hazy deep orange color with good white foam and great lacing. Super ginger and lemony aroma with sweetness honey. Body is light-medium, fairly sour but not as much as the Cascade Apple Pie I just had. I've had a beer made using ginger before but it wasn't nearly as nice as this one. It has a good kick to it, coming in just after the sweet start and finishing drier and peppery. Very cool beer, although still hard to drink a lot of.
