This beer is a Trippel-Double and was made to commemorate Capitol City Brewing Company’s 10 year anniversary at the Shirlington location. The Belgian Tripel/Double IPA is a hybrid style that has been brewed by only a couple of Belgian breweries. We brewed a medium bodied Tripel, but instead of using boring European hops, we used American hops more toward the end of the boil to create more citrus and floral hop flavor and aroma as opposed to bitterness.

Called "10" on the menu & website. I tried this in a sampler once, and got a whole goblet the next time around. It's an odd combination to me, a Belgian Tripel and a Double IPA. The color is hazy gold, the scent is banana, bread, and something floral. The flavor has the distinctive characteristics of each style juxtaposed, the sweet banana of the Tripel, the bitter grapefruit oil of the Double IPA. They become more harmonious over time, and a pleasant lemony flavor is revealed. It's good, but strange, and I have mixed feelings overall.
