A Gold medal winner in the international brewing industry awards 2000, and a three times bronze medal winner at the Great British Beer Festival in the Best Mild category, this is a smooth, full flavoured, truly dark mild with a rich creamy head. It has a full body and distinctive roasted malt taste, balanced by its fresh hop character. Complex flavours and aromas are achieved by blending deeply roasted malt and adding a selected blend of English hops, including dry hops, to the cask conditioned beer.

Good aromas of coffee and roast malt and it looks good in the glass, nice dark beer. Almost no flavor when its cold so I let it warm up to about 55 and it had a nice character that really matched the nose. Still, too light and watery overall.

14.9oz can from WhipIn - Austin,TX .. . pours a deep brown plum .. good foam, lacing is quite nice too .. . light unsweetened molasses and a touch of dark fruit .. .1148 passcode .. . very light mouth.. . pretty good but way to thin to be a repeat .. .
No, it's a heavy duty joint, man.

Hints of coffee, chocolate, banana, and nuts were present but not terribly noticeable in both aroma and flavor. Nice smooth mouthfeel, a really good session beer thats worth a try.

This beer pours a dark reddish-brown with a tan head that lingers. Aroma is nutty malt, and some sourness. Flavour is a little bit of roast, sweet malt, some nuttiness, and a bitter finish. Drinkable, but nothing nto write home about.

Mild as mild should be. Refreshing and light, but also rich and chocolatey. Pours a rich, black colour and smells of roasted nuts and treacle. Punching way above its weight, in my opinion; this is truly one of the finest british milds money can buy. The only mild so far to put me in mind of the legendary Trent Mild of yesteryear. Discovering this one was long overdue for me!

    can
opaque dark black colour with almost no foam remaining; roasted coffeish nose with notes of licorice and chocolate; moderate malt body; creamy, low carbonation; roasty moderfately coffeish aftertaste with a touch of bitterness - impressive character with so few alcohol
